Takes stock of organizational activities and affairs, 'Congress concerned over continued violence and bloodshed.

Srinagar May 6 (KNO) : Smt. Ambika Soni, AICC General Secretary, Incharge J&K affairs arrived here today on a day long visit to take stock of the organizational affairs and activities in Kashmir valley, interacted with grass root level delegates from South, Central and north Kashmir.

Soon after arrival she held detailed interactions with Legislators and senior functionaries of the Party and held deliberations about the present atmosphere of State, Later She also held separate meetings with Block Presidents of the valley, besides other Party Cadres, Earlier She was brief by PCC President G.A. Mir about the state of affairs including the present prevailing situation in the valley, besides constitution of PCC, DCC Delegations, Block President and also apprised her about other organizational activities including the ongoing process of constitution of district Units in Kashmir Valley.

Mir also apprised her about the overall security scenario of the valley. Briefing Congress General Secretary about the socio political scenario obtaining in the State, G.A. Mir while speaking on the occasion expressed serious concern over the extremely volatile situation in the valley describing it as fall out of wrong policies adopted by both State and Central Govts, for the fact, Centre lacks any policy about the Kashmir situation, as a result, the situation has turned from bad to worse, besides vitiating atmosphere of peace and tranquility in the State especially in valley. G.A. Mir also apprised the General Secretary about Congress Party’s efforts for restoration of peace, although the situation in the valley is so grim, but the Congress Party is working for peace. Congress Party being the only unifying force in the Country and State will continue to work for peace and stability.

He (G.A. Mir ) further said that Congress feels concerned about the violence and bloodshed, which is a matter of great concern and urged upon the Govt to take effective measures to put an end to violence. Speaking on the occasion Smt. Ambika Soni described Congress party as a vibrant situation in the valley and asked the Party Cadres to strengthen Congress party under the young and dynamic leader of Rahul Gandhi. Urging upon the Cadres to strengthen the Party and expose the failures and wrong policies of PDP BJP Coalition in the State, which is responsible for the current situation prevailing in the valley, Ambika Soni urged upon them to work for the well-being of the people, as that, the Congress is the only secular alternative acceptable to people in all the three regions.

She also expressed great concern over the prevailing situation in valley, saying that people are facing great hardships due to the extremely volatile situation prevailing in Kashmir valley. Mohd AkramTreasurer Krishan Kumar Amla, General Secretaries Farooq Andrabi, General Secretaries Surinder Singh Channi, Hilal Ahmad Shah, Shameema Iqbal, G. N. Mir Lasjan, Manzoor Ahmad Ganai, IYC Secretary Abid Kashmiri, Shameema Raina, Zahid Hussain Jan, Haji Farooq Mir, Gulam Mohd Mir, Mohd Iqbal Mir, Irfan Naqib, Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, Sahil Farooq, Imtiyaz Khan, Amir Rasool, Mir Iqbal and others.
